US cuts intelligence-sharing with Ukraine
WASHINGTON/NEW YORK, March 5 (Reuters) - The United States has paused intelligence information sharing with Ukraine, which further hurts Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russian missile strikes. This news comes shortly after a disastrous Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy where there were vast disagreements on how to reach a potential peace deal. All this signifies the US’s changing approach from strong support to Ukraine to a more conciliatory approach to Moscow.

Trump delays tariffs for goods under Mexico, Canada trade deal
WASHINGTON, March 6 (Reuters) - The latest news in the Canada, US, and Mexico trade saga saw President Donald Trump suspend the 25% tariffs he imposed, earlier this week, on most goods from Canada and Mexico. This is the latest twist on a fluctuating trade policy that has upended chaos in financial markets. While Canadian goods like potash, a critical fertilizer for US farmers, are included in the exemption, 25% imports of steel and aluminium will go into effect as scheduled on March 12. Both Canada and Mexico are top exporters of these metals to US markets.

Why does any of this matter to me?
Both events in Ukraine and to our southern border are representative of a rapidly changing world order. This is unprecedented in the modern era, thus the importance of staying informed increases.

A Christian response.
As previously mentioned, events across the world indicate vast changes are being made in foreign policy and international economics. While this may seem nerve-wracking at the least, let us not cease to forget who is really in control of the situation. Additionally, these events must serve as a solemn reminder of the need for us to pray for wisdom and prudence for our leaders as they attempt to solve these situations as best as they can.
Psalm 33: 10-12
The Lord foils the plans of the nations;
He thwarts the purposes of the people.
But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance.
